In west San Jose with the 95129 zip code, near the borders of Saratoga, Cupertino, and Campbell, you’ll find the much beloved Happy Valley neighborhood. The nearby school, which is highly regarded, is Country Lane Elementary, so the area is also known as the Country Lane neighborhood. This is a quiet pocket of understated but very comfortable ranch style homes on lovely tree lined streets.

What are homes like in the Country Lane or Happy Valley neighborhood?
This lovely area is composed of several different subdivisions (see below), with different builders and different building start dates. Most of the homes, though, are single family homes (detached houses), originally and mostly still ranch style. There are a few multi family properties (duplexes) or condo units, but not many in comparison to the houses.
The houses were originally between 1000 and 2000 SF in most cases, set on lot sizes of around 7000 to 8000 SF. A few were constructed in the late forties, but more typical is late 50s to early 60s – an era in which today’s buyers will be happy to find hardwood flooring as one of the typical amenities of that day. Some are very original while others have been expanded out or up. Most of the streets are lined with full, mature trees.
