Today we’ll share with you our Saratoga California neighborhood map! Saratoga is home to some stunning neighborhoods and subdivisions and is one of the most sought after areas in Silicon Valley.

Within this pretty city, have you ever wondered what neighborhood is where?  Perhaps you’ve heard of Saratoga Oaks, The Golden Triangle, Parker Ranch, Prides Crossing or The Platinum Triangle and had no idea where they were.   While there is some disagreement on select boundaries, the general areas can be identified fairly easily.  The tricky thing is that some of the boundaries are “messy” and at times,  that there’s more than a little overlap!

I have created and been updating Google My Maps where I hand drew in most of the residential areas’ approximate borders for the Saratoga California neighborhood map and this is where you’ll find the detailed list of better known communities, tracts, or subdivisions..  I hope that you find it helpful! Click on the map image below or use this link to see the live map on Google (you will be able to click on an area and see the neighborhood name, and in some cases, a little local information on it too).

We have posts on some of these and are adding to that list periodically, so check the menu bar under neighborhoods and Sartoga to see what we have now.

Schools in Saratoga: a neighborhood note about messy boundaries

Schools with exceptionally high scores tend to be the single biggest drawing card in Silicon Valley generally, and  also in Saratoga particularly, today for new home buyers. They have been good for many years (I can attest to this personally as a 1977 graduate of Saratoga High School) but the emphasis has only grown in the last decade or two.

Saratoga, like neighboring Los Gatos, Cupertino, and San Jose, has messy school boundaries in that they do not neatly or simply follow the city’s boundary lines. Instead, there are several school districts that slosh from one city to the next. My map does not delineate these boundaries. In some cases, the line goes through the neighborhood. That is the case with the Golden Triangle, where most of it is in Saratoga schools, but some has Cupertino.

Most, but not all, of Saratoga enjoys the famed “Saratoga Schools“. There are four elementary & middle school districts that serve the students in the city of Saratoga:

  • Saratoga Union School District
  • Campbell Union School District
  • Moreland School District
  • Cupertino School District

And there are three high school districts:

  • Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District
  • Fremont Union High School District
  • Campbell Union High School District

Sometimes the homes on the same street may look identical, but have very different values because of the school district boundaries and the weight that consumers place on the API scores or other factors.

It should be noted that with West Valley College in town, it is not difficult for students to take college-level classes in summers or evenings if there is a subject which they want to study not available at the local public high school. Options about for success in schools anywhere in Saratoga already, but this is a wonderful added bonus.

Other messy boundaries – Saratoga California neighborhood map challenges

A tricky thing can happen along the borders of Silicon Valley cities where the post office assigns a mailing address city that is not the same as the actual city to which the parcel belongs. This is true in Saratoga, too.

Saratoga has a confusing area where there are Saratoga addresses but the homes are actually in San Jose (and subject to the San Jose city transfer taxes when selling). The reverse happens in other parts of the city where the post office has assigned a Los Gatos mailing address, but the property is in Saratoga. Check the zoning map to be sure.
